New Zealand’s passport secured the sixth position in the Henley Passport Index for 2024, offering visa-free access to 189 destinations. This ranking puts Aotearoa on equal footing with Australia, the Czech Republic, and Poland, surpassing traditional heavyweights like the United States and Canada. The first position is shared by France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain, with access to 194 destinations without a visa. Finland, South Korea, and Sweden share the second spot, while Austria, Denmark, Ireland, and the Netherlands jointly hold the third position. Several other European nations also outpace New Zealand in the passport power rankings.
