Air New Zealand has been declared the world’s safest airline for 2024, reclaiming the top position from Qantas, according to travel information website Airline Ratings. The evaluation considered factors such as serious incidents, recent fatal accidents, audits, profitability, safety initiatives, pilot training assessments, and fleet age. Air New Zealand’s commitment to safety, particularly in challenging weather environments, contributed to its recognition. The airline’s chief operational integrity and safety officer, Captain David Morgan, emphasized that safety is their top priority. Last year, Air New Zealand was also named the world’s best airline by Airline Ratings.
