Where Are The Audiences 2023

The “Where Are The Audiences?” research conducted by NZ On Air in 2023 reveals significant shifts in audience behavior compared to 2021. The survey, conducted by Glasshouse Consulting, involved 1408 New Zealanders aged 15 and older, assessing their media consumption patterns. Key findings include the growing preference for on-demand content, with online video, SVOD, and digital media leading the way. Traditional linear TV viewership has declined, and digital media usage now exceeds traditional media consumption. The report also highlights the popularity of platforms like YouTube, Netflix, Facebook, TVNZ 1, and Spotify, as well as changes in peak viewing times and the growing digital trend among older age groups. However, gaming usage has declined, and Stuff is the most widely used news site, with TVNZ remaining the most trusted news source.
