The United Sri Lanka Association Auckland (USLA) has exciting news for the Sri Lankan community! They have launched a new social project called ‘EVERYTHING FREE DAY’. This special event will take place on the 5th of August, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Meadowbank Community Centre located at 29, St Johns Rd, Meadowbank.

‘EVERYTHING FREE DAY’ encourages everyone to donate useful items they no longer need, similar to donations made to Red Cross, Salvation Army, or Dove Shop. Instead of throwing away things that can still be of value, the community can help one another by sharing their belongings.

Those willing to donate can bring their items in their car boot to the Meadowbank Community Centre, with the boot open for easy access. Fellow Sri Lankans will be grateful to receive these generous contributions with a big thank you!

For those who are in need of something, the event offers an excellent opportunity to find what they are looking for. By visiting the Meadowbank Centre on the 5th of August at 2 pm, community members can explore the items generously donated by their Sri Lankan relatives. It is important to note that this is not a money exchange event, so attendees are advised not to bring money. The focus is on sharing and supporting each other in the community.

The USLA aims to make ‘EVERYTHING FREE DAY’ a resounding success and encourages everyone to spread the word. Let’s come together and make this event a true testament to the spirit of unity and care within the Sri Lankan community.

Mark your calendars for the 5th of August, and let us all contribute to this wonderful initiative. See you there!
